Training vs Nutrition

There’s so little time in a day for all of our health priorities. So what’s more important? Resistance, Cardio, or Nutrition? So…with a basic understanding of biology, we can live without sprints and back squats, but without food we are as good as done. Our bodies are built/designed/created to survive and 33% of that equation belongs to our ability to hunt and gather food. So the movement (exercise) goes hand and hand with eating but we only move when we are finding or protecting food sources (and for shelter and sex but that's another blog) and therefore we only need the food that would fuel our daily physical efforts. If you are eating more calories than you are moving then there will be weight gain, so you can see the connection between exercise and nutrition.

If you had only an hour to commit to the gym, I would suggest you take 20 minutes from that workout time and properly plan your nutrition to meet your actual energy exertion levels. Don’t start thinking resistance and cardio work are not beneficial because they can be a large part of a healthy turnaround for anyone that has an otherwise sedentary lifestyle or wants to increase muscle development. However, you will see weight loss results from the modification of your diet faster than trying to exercise your way out of the typical everyday diet of an over-eater. However, if you insist on eating whatever you want and trying to exercise your way out of your eating habits then I would suggest eating your food in front of a mirror with your shirt off. Just a suggestion.
